Memories – Brian Litherland

I was a member of the Cubs from around 1948 and I remember well Chief Hargreaves and his son Wilf Hargreaves and of course, Bill Shaw. It was a happy time there.I never went up to scouts – I can’t think why I didn’t, perhaps it was because money was short in those days.

I was involved with the 1st C and A Scouts again in 1983 taking camping equipment to a camp in Norway staying with the scouts on camp for a memorable week.

For some years I refereed the South Notts Scout Swimming Galas and I was very pleased to see that the 1st C and A did very well in those, winning many trophies, sadly though they never won the Coulby cup.

Unfortunately, I am unable to be present at the reunion due to a prior family committment, but I wish you all a very happy evening and success for the next 80 years.

Regards,

Brian Litherland
